IMPACT

Together, we are building a future where circularity and inclusiveness are central.

At Remake Society, we believe that honest entrepreneurship is the power behind real change. By connecting government, education and business, we are driving social and circular system change.

Social Impact

Work, training and integration.

Remake Society is located in one of the poorest neighborhoods in the Netherlands, in the Rotterdam-Feyenoord area. A neighborhood with a diverse community that includes many newcomers and mothers on welfare. Many of these cultures have a rich tradition in textile crafts, while the knowledge and industry have largely been lost in the Netherlands.

We not only offer work to people with experience in textiles, but also training and internship opportunities for beginners.

ENVIRONMENTAL impact

The textile industry is one of the most polluting industries in the world.

Clothing and other textiles provides:

- 10% of global CO2 emissions
- 20% of water pollution
- Wasting 80 billion liters of water per year
- 300 million kilograms of waste per year in the Netherlands alone

At Remake Society, we give textile waste a second life and ensure that materials stay in the chain for as long as possible. Through high-quality repair, reuse and upcycling, we reduce waste streams and reduce the negative impact of industry.
