Together we are building a system where textiles and people get a second chance.
At Remake Society, we are committed to creating social and environmental value. The textile industry is one of the biggest polluters due to both the production process and the gigantic overproduction leading to a waste stream the world doesn't know how to deal with.
Society leaves the labor potential untapped due to language deficiencies and education level, which prevents people from getting out of welfare. MBO graduates do not receive enough training in reusing materials and therefore do not learn to think circularly.
A circular chain that works
Remake Society rounds out the chain by working with municipalities, education and business. Companies reuse their own textiles and offer a market. Through the municipality, candidates who understand the textile craft but are not yet participating in the labor market are given a chance. Educational institutions provide trainees who learn the craft from the professionals, while on the shop floor they promote Dutch language development. This creates a new ecosystem in which everyone gives and takes something.
